You have to think that the daguerrean had the man and horse stand on that measly patch of snow in order to make their feet and hooves (respectively) stand out, don’t you think? It’s always difficult to make a dag with snow in it without solarizing it and you’ll note that this snow very barely turns blue at an angle. The sixth plate image does its job in showing off… whatever kind of horse that well. The man is surely the horse’s trainer. The image is in very good condition with some minor tarnish and mat abrasions. It comes in a whole case.
