AN INTRIGUING COMPOSITION

A handsome young man stood full-length on a colorful, striped carpet next to a small wooden chair for his sixth plate portrait. As part of the composition, the maker decided to place an tiny table topped by a blue colored cloth in the lower left corner. This daguerreotype shows a composition that I’ve never seen before from the 1850s. The resealed plate is in fine condition and is kept in a complete leather case.
