BY PLUMIER IN PARIS. This wonderful, maker identified image is being offered in the original condition. There is a small diagonal crack in the cover glass lower left corner. But it is still very tight and not at all loose. Since the gent wore a boutonniere on his jacket (which to my eyes, is very rarely seen) I wonder if this was the chap’s “before he was to be married” portrait? Also of note, were the string of beads below his hand. What were those about? The plate is without a frame. Please see the complete label on the reverse of the dag in the second scan.
