SEATED FOR HER PAINTING. Or more likely a watercolor with the possibility that it was a pencil sketch. Someone thought enough of the lady to have her drawn likeness copied to a half plate daguerreotype that has aged nearly flawlessly except for minor spots mostly in the patina surrounding the subject. The cover of her push button case is missing. The mirrored surface has splendid mid-tones and good contrast.
