LIGHT AND SHADOWS

…..are perfectly balanced in this tranquil scene. I love when you can see through windows in a house. Here, there are only small glints of sun shining through, but, coupled with the spots of light in the trees it has transformed a static shot into more of a lifelike picture. The true essence of what makes daguerreotypes great is the fact that they are mirror images without distortion from a negative or just digital pixels gathered and robotically rearranged. Some scenic dags are so well composed that one can almost walk into them. This one has that effect but not to the extent of exploration like with a city street or gold mining scene that goes off into the distance.  The simplicity overall with subtle details is what makes this an appealing image. There are a couple small wipes as seen towards the center, almost blending into the details.  The overall condition is good on this sixth plate held in a full case.
