“SARAH FITZ RANDOLPH”! David Clark operated his gallery at 11 Peace St. New Brunswick NJ, when Sarah’s parents brought their beautiful and quite precocious daughter to him for the production of her brilliant resealed ninth plate daguerreotype. Although the child moved, Mr. Clark saved the day because he contrasted her white dress against that midnight hued background. He also used a remarkable palette of colors to embellish those beautiful flowers, that necklace and Sarah?s flesh tones. Mat marks mar the silver near the edges of the scalloped mat! White specks and flecks can be seen. Nothing takes away from the adorable little lass! More information was written on a piece of paper that was pinned to the velvet cushion inside the complete leather case.
