Luther Holman Hale produced the sixth plate of the gent. The subject’s portrait has excellent contrast and outstanding depth. He was posed in dramatic fashion that gave him prominence on the silver. Light tint was added to his cheeks. There are mold tendrils on the left and some mold mites elsewhere. All the doubled dots are dust specks on the glass. This piece and the man?s companion, who was copied by an unknown daguerreian and fitted into an adequately repaired leather case with two compartments, were sealed by someone else. The lovely lass wore a very dark dress for her original likeness. Hers has similar condition issues as the man. Sold as you see them.
