A STAR SPANGLED . . . Neatly knotted bowtie caught my eye first, then that neatly painted scenic tableau before I gazed upon the chap’s handsome, innocent face and spied that pair of looped earrings. White paint covered the blue solarization on the man’s shirt and collar. The red, white and blue application of color to his neck adornment was smashing! After studying the youthful fellow’s hand that rested on a couple books, can there be any doubt that he was most likely familiar with the deck of a sturdy ocean-going vessel? The wonderfully restored sixth plate is held in a beautiful leather case embossed with gold designs on the cover. The leather spine was repaired years ago. A scattering of mold mites is inconsequential!
