WAS IT A PENCIL? Madonna held her mechanical device in one hand and placed her arm across the edge of the covered table. She cast her angled gaze beyond the position of the camera that produced the retaped sixth plate. Her daguerreian used a limited palette of pigments, pale red, on her flesh tones in a valiant attempt to hide the naturally occurring solarization. The light and shade on the fluted design of the drapery is a wonderful addition to the exotic young lady?s likeness. Small mat marks, some odd lines and mold spiders are on the surface. Words were written inside a nice complete leather case that is slightly warped. I include a second scan since I can?t decipher the script.
