MISSED THE FOCUS. Don?t blame the four siblings for being soft. This time it was the daguerreian who was obviously at fault. Never the less, the attitudes and expressions of the three girls and their brother are clearly seen. Of course, don?t we wonder what was portrayed inside the wooden frame partially visible in the upper left corner of the kids? resealed sixth plate? Both the contrast and tonality were very good. The children were taken circa 1847. The surface was buffed in both directions. Red wax remains on the copper side. It was used to secure a wooden block during the polishing process. The leather case has a very loose hinge.
