EXCEPTIONAL COMPOSITION. The child was instructed exactly how to pose for her resealed sixth plate. The maker adjusted his table to the proper height so his subject could easily rest one arm on an exceptionally printed cloth that was arranged so perfectly. Her steady gaze was aimed past the camera. The gal?s concentration was actually exceptional. The daguerreian tinted her necklace and flowers on that lovely woven basket red. He used a pale pigment on her face and arms. Broad flows of oxidation still don?t hinder the freedom of the subject. Blue and white specks are at the top of the beautiful rendering. The separated leather case suggests the likeness was made circa 1847. A deep blue velvet pad pressed with a floral design is inside the cover.
