The woman hired Mr. Simpson located in Lowell MASS to make this lovely sixth plate daguerreotype that has a new archival seal. Obviously, the well-appointed subject must have looked into a mirror more than once to achieve such perfection in her ensemble and a much later appearing hairstyle. She had a broad, pleasant face and wide brown eyes. Simpson really used an elaborate skill set to paint her features and jewelry. There are flows of patina away from the brass mat edge that was stamped with information for the maker and town at the bottom. The lady has aged to perfection inside the complete though worn leather case.
