The second seals were made from a page of labels, extolling the virtues of G. P. Lasselle’s “Patent Ferrotype? located at 4 Summer St. in Boston. Erin and I both think that this sixth size dag, taken in the mid-1850s, might have been delivered to Lasselle in the 1860s or later for ?renewal?. Erin presented a fantastic lecture concerning men and women who advertised this type of service from mid-19th century onward. Not sure who took the dag but the operator certainly was a highly skilled professional. Only the bottom of a leather case remains.
