REMARKABLE POSTURE. Thanks to a very innovative unknown daguerreian, the woman was placed standing next to that ornately turned wooden chair. The man most likely suggested her pose, which she pulled off perfectly! What I didn’t notice through the almost opaque glass were the two large areas of decay on the right OR the prominent scar on the subject’s nose that continued across her cheek! Please see the second close up reproduction. I won?t surmise how that occurred. Lovely hand applied pigments on the retaped sixth plate further embellished her likeness. Her complete leather case is very worn.
