A CLASSIC CHARACTER STUDY! Heavy facial hair and a tinted blue vest along with nicely colored flesh tones all added to this gent’s awesome resealed sixth plate portrait, marking him as a man about town and with enough coin in his pocket to have a fine image taken in the mid-1850s. There are teeny parallel marks lower right that totally disappear when the gentleman is fully appreciated inside the oval of patina. His leather case is complete but worn.
