Sixth Plate

TWINS? Casey first mentioned that the lovely pair of posers were definitely sisters and I immediately concurred. There is a creamy richness on the perfect silver surfaced resealed sixth plate that adds to the superlative nature of their remarkable remembrance. I can’t tell you that that gals are the same age but I will assure you that held in the remainder of their leather case is one exceptional daguerreotype. As an added bonus, written in pencil underneath the pair is: “A. L. Nastor, Artimus Lane N”. The teenagers are both cute. Their faces are friendly and the extra artistic effort the operator made by suggesting the placement of that hand on one sibling’s shoulder forever tied them together. That vertical dark strand of hair looks like a flaw but it isn’t. Colorful patina adds to the beauty of the likeness.
