FANCY HAT. Woe is the lad that was forced to wear a chapeau with such frippery as seen in this sixth plate with a new seal. The little lad probably blinked during the exposure, as children were prone to do. Because the child was seated in a high chair and the depth of field was impressive, we have a fantastic peek at his shoes, red tinted woolen rag socks AND the hat. You might wonder about the dark center post between the subject’s legs. That would be part of the head clamp arrangement. The bright blue tinted tablecloth contrasts with the rich creamy tonality. The condition is immaculate! Lovely rim tarnish compliments the likeness. The leather case has an old leather hinge that was done years ago.
