NOT FROM MARS! Although those antennae might have significance elsewhere, I can assure you all that the gent, who was copied by ?Davis? onto this splendid re-cleaned and resealed sixth plate daguerreotype, was a grounded earthling. The handsome, very eager to be taken chap was fantastically posed by his original maker, who most likely was the Davis stamped on the brass mat. His likeness represents one of those amazing efforts that produced such a great second generation image, that I certainly couldn?t determine it was a duplicate until I examined the naked plate. The youthful appearing aristocrat is kept in a complete leather case.
