DIFFERENT! I am referring to the lighting scheme that I see reflected in the person?s dark eyes. Apparently his maker used a large window and a smaller opening placed side by side in his room to illuminate his subjects! The young gent was dramatically posed for his retaped sixth plate. He grasped the fabric of his colorful vest, turned his head away from the lens and focused on a point beyond the plane of the finely polished plate. There are a couple mold spiders and a strange round spot of tarnish plus flowing patina on the surface. The domed cover of his leather case, with a new leather spine, was embossed with an odd variant of the Delicate Roses theme. Five leaves on the left and six on the right of the stems. Written in pencil on the red silk pad was Feb. 26th 1851!
