PAINTERLY FINISH. The dag maker responsible for his client’s taped sixth plate was a practicing professional I suspect. He was capable of superbly polishing his silver mirrors, illuminating people expertly and then completing their likenesses with an artist’s eye when he applied realistic colors. The gent’s image is also stunningly black and white! Since another person sealed this piece, I didn’t see the condition of the original glass, that I suspect was responsible for those thin vertical lines and some of the other dried moisture spots. The best news is this. When the broken leather case cover is removed, most of the flaws are difficult to identify.
