HIS MAGIC TOUCH! Casey was able to identify the potential of this recently cleaned and archivally taped sixth plate gem when he purchased the piece in an antique shop. The wooden frame that held the likeness has a red studio label on the reverse that says: ?BUSHONG Portrait Photographer Worcester MASS? and the small brass round hanger secured at the top was stamped, ?Foster Bros. Boston?. But I stray from the man, whose remarkable portrait absolutely leaps off the sparkling silver surface. The close up revealed the gent?s intense gaze, craggy wind burned face and thick salt and pepper head of hair. At first Casey insisted the loop on the chap?s ear was a piece of hair. Closer inspection revealed the possibility of an earring! The daguerreotype was taken circa 1850 and the frame was fashionable 80 years later. Small mat scrapes and mold mites along with a white dot are visible.
