I’M PERPLEXED! I have seen hundreds, probably thousands of sixth plate resealed dags where a subject was holding flowers, yet I can’t recall seeing two BLACK blooms being displayed. The perky woman seems way to happy for those blossoms to have represented the death of a loved one, UNLESS of course, she was responsible for an evil spouse’s demise. Ah . . . the heat and humidity from slogging through the Brimfield flea markets earlier this week have obviously had an effect on my mind! At first glance, the gal seems a bit plump but very friendly. Her silvery mirror has NOT really aged at all. Her flesh tones and pink ribbon were nicely tinted. Great contrast and depth are contained in a complete leather case. Another daguerreian conundrum that I am very pleased to present to all of you.
