That natty bowtie and the lower portion of the lad’s face were rendered slightly soft because an imperfectly ground set of elements in the lens was used to make his likeness. Don’t you wonder what that highly reflective disk was that the young chap wore in a buttonhole? The light source was visible there and in his bright eyes. Two brown dots are on his clothes and another in the backdrop. Excellent depth will be revealed when the separated cover of his worn leather case is removed. I suspect the teenager enjoyed looking into his mirror!
