A VALID ATTEMPT. The lass might not have been considered a beautiful specimen of womanhood, but working in concert with her maker, circa 1845, they created a wonderful well-posed resealed sixth plate portrait. The holographic depth is absolutely spectacular and her comportment really brings me into her space. The tilt of her head and that perfectly placed finger against her slightly tinted face was marvelously done. She comes in a leather case with an adequately repaired hinge. The restoration has been recently completed. Those buff marks on her face disappear when viewing her in person for the most part. There is nice patina inside the octagonal mat and a few mold spiders on the silver.
