Sixth Plate

TWO CHAIRS. What could have been more logical? The surprised boy stood on one piece of furniture while holding a finial on top of the beautifully turned spindle on the more decorative seat and his maker made a restored sixth plate likeness. Curiously enough, the buff strokes were quite deep on the tot?s image. I love the lad?s hand that he hooked with his thumb into those awesome checked trousers. And check out the decorative squiggly lines on his white shirtsleeves. What?s not to enjoy about this tiny child? Ample tarnish flows freely inside the neatly stamped brass mat. The deep depth is impressive. A leather case is missing the hinge.
