FUZZY PURPLE MAT! This . . . is a wonderful large lady framed with an extremely RARE sixth sized purple velvet mat circa 1847+-, that I just resealed. She is kept in a beautiful brown leather push button case! There is a slender silver lozenge surrounded by a fancy stamped diamond shape in the center of the case cover. There are many teeny little dots on her dress and in the drop that really don?t affect the lass. The restored woman is surrounded by broad multi-hued patina that went wonky upper right. I should mention the handiwork the daguerreotypist used when painting all her jewelry golden and the especially the delicate use of his brush and pigments on her purse. Yes she was indeed a pious patron although I must admit that is a strange area to display her cross.
