A DANDY IN MINIATURE! He was masquerading as an adult don’t you think? I resealed this sixth plate recently after removing old seals and filthy glass. While there is colorful patina on all sides of the youthful subject, that certainly doesn’t inhibit my viewing pleasure and total appreciation for the lad. Beautiful tinting and holographic depth were both rather remarkable. He is kept in a fine full leather push button case. If only he would have worn that wonderful hat banded by a pale blue ribbon. Not only did he display a fine walking stick but also he finished his character by sporting a golden pinky ring. I guess I must inquire, whose child was he? Why did a parent pose their son in this manner? Could he have been a child actor? While we will never know the correct answer it is quite a lovely and curious portrait!
