SUPERLATIVE DEPTH! The subject was a sturdy gal who might have consumed too may sweets through the years OR the rule of genetics was in play and her face and body shape simply followed the path of her parents. She was pleasant enough when she posed in the early 1850s for this archivally taped sixth plate in a leather case that has a separated cover. I wonder how difficult it might have been and what type of wax would have been used to keep the strands of hair plastered in place on each temple? What else should I mention? Very strong contrast is obvious. I don?t recognize that fancy wooden chair. The girl was at the height of fashion when she selected those fingerless lace gloves. One green speck is seen mid-left near the mat. Also several tiny mat marks. The oxidation is oddly shaped in places.
