Sixth Plate

HE WAS BIG! I think the immediate impression I formed when I studied their resealed sixth plate daguerreotype held in the bottom of a leather case was how large the fellow must have been in life. I wasn?t quite so certain if he was posed with his mother or was the lady the gent?s mature wife. The floral print on her dress was quite fantastic don?t you think? And the guy?s vest was also rather impressive. The technical quality of their likeness was nothing short of astounding! Great contrast and deep depth along with fine condition are all pleasant surprises. The cover has disappeared from their leather case.
