RUDIMENTARY AT BEST! How did this resealed sixth plate portrait EVER LEAVE the hands of the operator? Was this the best he could do? Bet he didn?t last in business more then a couple months. Of course the callow kid could have been holding a copy of the Declaration of Independence for all we know! His bright shirt was heavily lathered in WHITE PAINT! Probably the same variety that Tom and Huck used years later on that picket fence! Really folks, these ?way off? examples enthrall me at times. The bottom of the lad?s leather case, which is missing the cover, suggests that he was taken circa 1845.
