FINGER RINGS! The daguerreian was very careful to accentuate his subject?s jewelry with gold paint and I think he even added some blue to those bright bands near the tablecloth. The gal?s sixth plate is kept in a beautiful painted book style case without a latch and clasp. The floral bouquet on the Japanned black cover was a work of art in miniature. The portrait has an archival seal. Patina flows evenly inside the scalloped mat. There is a mold mite in the background. Most of the specks are actually marks in the tarnish. Someone glued part of the inner spine of the case rather poorly.
