SEEMED INTELLIGENT. The cover is gone from this sensitive fellow?s leather case. His was a classic bust portrait and the operator did very well not to get glaring reflected light in the chap?s eye glasses. Especially since illumination entered the room from high on the left. Looking carefully into the subject?s eyes revealed a sizeable piece of white cloth on the right just out of view underneath the brass oval mat. Very nice contrast and strong reflected depth are readily apparent. There are mat scrapes in the rainbow patina. Mold spiders are prominent in places. I should mention a few brown dots are visible including two on his forehead. The sixth plate has been retaped.
