WHAT WAS IT? Even when I attempted to discover if letters or musical notes were printed on the folded sheaves of paper the young woman held against her dress, by turning the plate negative, any information that might have been there still eluded me. This wary but rather content gal is kept in a separated sixth sized leather case. There are a few teeny marks near the top of the mat that are barely seen. Nice patina surrounds the resealed subject. Her voluminous dress with three bows in the center and those billowing sleeves were certainly eye catching! As were the teardrop earrings and that large lovely square pin painted with a floral theme. There is a small scratch above the sitter?s neatly coiffured head and maybe a couple mat marks elsewhere. Pale pink was painted on her cheeks and lips.
