That shadowy protrusion aiming towards the fellow from the edge of the mat was his upturned tall top hat. Yes those are also mat scrapes there and in other places. The subject?s distinctive beard and moustache, his neatly combed hair and suggestive deep brown eyes probably pegged him as a dandy fellow. His oddly sewn jacket simply shimmered in the bright illumination. I don?t know why that dollop of gold was painted at the bottom of his coat. Lovely patina follows the curves of the brass mat. The chap?s complete leather case is quite nice.
