A NICE DAG! Certainly nothing superlative to say about the rather plain woman who sat on a fancy piece of furniture smack dab in the center of her restored sixth plate, except that her maker did produce a highly reflective likeness with great contrast. She was crowned during the life of the daguerreotype by beautiful oxidation. There are two mold spiders on an otherwise glorious surface. The complete leather case could be original to the image that was taken circa 1850.
