DID HE WEAR . . . A hat with a brim only on the right side, or was he just showing off when his retaped sixth plate likeness was taken circa 1851? The fellow?s high forehead supported that neatly combed mane that he managed to partially control. Over time, oxidation closed in upon the handsome chap. Many of the spots are breaks in the tarnish. There also are a few mold spiders on the bright, shimmering silver surface. The spine on the leather case is broken.
