A REMARKABLE SECOND! She was copied onto this trimmed newly sealed sixth plate by a remarkably talented daguerreian. Because the woman selected a completely dark ensemble the first thought that entered my mind was the possibility that she was in mourning and wanted to record this period in her life on a daguerreotype. Then she inquired about having the original replicated. Obviously, the oxidation on the left has created a funky appearance and there are mat scrapes on that side of the surface too. A few mold spiders are also visible. She is kept in a nearly pristine leather case. Opposite the lady is a beautiful green embossed cushion.
