DID HE REALLY NEED IT? The spry appearing fellow sat easily on an unseen chair and placed one arm on a table. In his other hand, he curled his fingers around the crooked head of a wooden cane. Was that walking stick simply used for show or did the guy have a bum leg and needed it to move around more easily? An inquiring mind would like to know the answer. However at the end of the day it is a rather moot point I guess. There are a few mold mites and black lines that occurred during the buffing. Oddly enough, those white spots on his vest were there when the retaped sixth plate dag was made circa 1851! A few mat scrapes are visible when the separated leather case cover is removed.
