A PRETTY SCHOOLBOY! This conserved sixth plate captured a lad who wore an awesome vest and unusual hat that had a ribbon near the back of the brim!!! His maker used layers of pigments to create lifelike flesh tones. The kid was quite attentive and lifted his chin slightly while the exposure was executed. It should be obvious to all of us, that he wore his best set of clothes for the remembrance. There is a small wipe above his hat and another one on his arm that rested on the table. Those teeny dots on his jacket are green spots. His leather case also has a repaired spine. The central theme was a bold eagle surrounded by stars inside a circle. Filigree flowed freely beyond that.
