WRAP YOUR ARM . . .

Over the back of my painted chair, lean down slightly and I will move the camera in nice and close so your loved ones will have the best look at your countenance that is possible!  No daguerreian would have told THIS SUBJECT that!  I dreamed it up!  Well . . . you try to write all these captions!  Anyway, the seriousness of the man’s eyes and his magnificent artistic pose with those hands located low inside the double elliptical frame should be enough visual delights for the next collector without me having to further wax eloquently about the resealed sixth plate.  But I will since the silk finish on his jacket just leaps of the heavily buffed silver. The whites are crisp and the depth remarkably holographic.  There is a flow to the arrangement because of the spokes of light and shade in the cloth drop.  One weird fold of tarnish comes in on the left side near the gent’s shoulder.   The patina above his head is colorful.  When the intact leather case is opened a red silk pad is barely seen because of the remarkable quality of the portrait taken circa 1848.
