EMILY WHELEN (1853-1929)

I found a fair bit about little Emily on Ancestry thanks to the information on the case pad. She was the youngest of eight, all of whom lived to adulthood. A date of about 1855 is exactly right for this sixth plate image by C. Evans of Philadelphia. He was always a good maker. The dag is resealed (although not by us) and is in very good condition with a bit of tarnish on the left. Her bonnet is tinted blue. The case is whole.
