A LOVELY VIGNETTE.

This image, by Southworth & Hawes, pictures a young woman of the mid 1850s, her hair done in the best of styles. Note the way her curls sink into the vignette effect. Her oval earrings accent against her dark hair perfectly. The sixth plate dag is resealed and comes in a pushbutton case. The dag has some minor imperfections – teeny mat abrasions at the lower left and three silvery spots, in her hair, on her lip, and one under her eye. The one in her hair is nearly invisible.
