This pair has posed a conundrum for me for quite some time. While I am unsure if this is the original case, I am near positive that these quarter plate ambros have always been back to back with the same protector. Each is a single pane of glass and I’ve never tried to take the package apart because I didn’t want to damage the emulsion on either piece. You can see that each image has some lines on it from where the emulsion has shrunk a bit. Whoever the photographer was shot each scene well. Each is sharp, although the man in the wagon and his dog moved a bit. There is a woman leaning out of a window and a man in the doorway. The green tinting is nice. The other image, of a man on horseback, conveys an entire mood, don’t you think? The images come in a case with a split spine.
