Couple Quarter Plate Dag

WERE THOSE FINGERS? Or an odd light strike, a moving arm and hand, or was the quarter plate repolished leaving that brighter area across the lady’s lap and ending on the gent’s thigh? Aside from that initial conundrum, I thought that the man?s hand placement on his wife?s shoulder was rather endearing. The fact that he did NOT wear a jacket for this rather formal image was surprising. The couple are kept in a book style red velvet case that is intact except for the separated right-hand flap containing the latch that would have permitted closure of the box. Patina and a few mold spiders are visible.
