M. P. SIMONS PHILa” . . . Was stamped inside a small oval on the reverse of a spectacular horizontal themed outdoor scene embossed on the cover of the complete leather case. Inside, the archivally sealed quarter sized portrait of an older man and woman, married for many years no doubt, was executed with marvelous precision. On the back of the double silvered plate “Mr. & Mrs. Keen May 28th 1846” was written in ink on a large Simons advertising label. Please review all the scans.
