A pair of pissed off brothers stood for their inevitable restored quarter plate daguerreotype. Certainly the boys were taken at the insistence of their parents! The latent haziness occurred over time after another hand cleaned the surface with cyanide fumes, which for many years was the preferred method of removing tarnish and tinting. Slight wipes are above the brothers. Examining the boys in the bottom of their leather case illuminated the fact that I have never held a daguerreotype that had deeper holographic depth.
