This kid remained cool and collected as he had his portrait made. One of his parents was surely just off camera monitoring the situation. Both he and the daguerreotypist did a very good job. The resealed sixth plate is lightly tinted (face and hands) and while it has a bit of a tarnish patina, that surely doesn’t detract. The dag comes in a half case.
