As though the artist never finished the painting of his pretty subject since the brush strokes on either side of her neck and chin (on the left side) were not smoothed out. The depth of reflection on the newly taped sixth plate is almost into another dimension. The bright dots on the shoulder of the model are digs in the surface. All the brown specks seem to have been caused by contamination in the pigments. Tarnish and the oval brass mat frame the young woman who rests in a complete leather case with a delicate roses theme popular in 1845.
