Levi Judkins & Friend, Sixth Plate Daguerreotype

LEVI JUDKINS & FRIEND. A note in the bottom of this sixth plate’s case tells us that Levi was on the right and that the other guy remains unknown. I like their symmetrical pose, although it’s funny how much they seem to be leaning away from each other. Their haircuts are great too, as is Levi’s steely gaze. The image is resealed and comes in a half case. The surface has some tarnish, as you can see, and a bit of white haze that encroaches on their knees. There are a few brown spots scattered here and there as well as some mold spiders.
