Other than the bit of tarnish encroaching at the top and bottom, this dag is in fine condition. The daguerreotypist surely was a good one and used the books to make his column just a hair taller for the gentleman. The bottom book’s title is tantalizingly close to being readable. The studio had great lighting and the maker had a colorist that tinted the man’s flesh tones (face and hands) very well. The image comes in a half case.
